Last updated:

This policy covers the Archie app, website, and licensing service. Archie is provided by RESPECT PROD., a Polish sole trader responsible for the personal data described below.

Your files stay yours

Archie processes your screenshots, files, and image-to-text requests on your Mac. It doesn’t upload this content to our servers. Any cloud syncing you enable separately follows that service’s settings.

What we collect

We store your Mac’s name to distinguish licensed devices, an Archie-generated installation ID—not its serial number—and license, trial, activation, and deactivation records.

Trial, activation, deactivation, and license checks also send your Mac model, macOS version, and Archie version and build. We keep the latest values and last contact and update times, linked to your installation and any activated license. These records are not anonymous; they do not track your activity on the Mac or keep a separate version history.

We store license recipients’ emails, issuance and delivery records, recovery requests, and support messages. Purchases also include payment references, amount, currency, and date. These records can be linked to your license.

Hosting providers receive connection data, including IP addresses, for website visits, downloads, and licensing requests. We temporarily store hashed IP and email addresses to prevent abuse.

Our website’s Download and Buy counters keep daily request totals, without cookies, stored IP addresses, or individual visitor profiles.

Why we collect it

To run trials, deliver and maintain licenses, manage activated Macs, recover keys, provide support, and prevent abuse. Device details help us investigate compatibility issues and understand models and software versions in use. Trial-to-purchase records and website counters help us understand downloads and purchases.

Legal basis

Purchase and licensing data let us provide your requested service. We rely on legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention, compatibility support, device and version statistics, and trial-to-purchase analysis; and on legal obligations for legally required records. We handle support messages to provide the service or answer your enquiry.

Where your data is processed

Cloudflare hosts the website, downloads, and licensing service. Google Workspace handles license and support emails. Stripe Managed Payments handles checkout; we don’t receive full card details.

These providers may process data outside Poland or the European Economic Area. See their privacy information for international processing and safeguards: Cloudflare, Google, and Stripe.

How long we keep it

Purchase and license issuance records support your ongoing license and legal requirements. Trial records support eligibility and abuse prevention. Support, security, and email delivery records are kept for resolving requests, investigating problems, and maintaining the service.

Device records, including their latest model, software, and contact details, currently have no fixed automatic expiry. Deactivation or uninstalling Archie does not delete server records.

Contact us to ask what we hold or request deletion. We assess what can be removed and what is still needed for licensing, trial-abuse prevention, or legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Email hello@tryarchie.app to exercise your rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, including Poland’s UODO.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Archie evolves. We will show the date above and provide additional notice of material changes where required.
